I look in a lot of Google Analytics accounts. A LOT. The first thing I do is check to make sure the account is verified and connected to the search console (If you’re like “what is the search console” start here). Half the time, I see a search console connection (yip!) but no data in the search console reports. So far, this is ALWAYS because the website was upgraded to an HTTPS, but the Analytics account and search console connection were not.
Here’s how to check to make sure you’re all lined up. Check to see if your website is http or https (at this point you should all be https, but that’s a whole other blog post). Whatever you are, make sure it lines up with what you have in your Google Analytics account AND search console. It should only take a few minutes, but you will happy to see all of the lovely data flow into your search console reports when they all match.
